Lectures & Video Conferences In the past, IIST has seen some of the most famous and respected names visit and speak to the students about their life, experiences, subjects etc., deliver lectures on specialised topics, and inspire, motivate and stimulate the students to do something worthwhile for the country.  These names include luminaries like Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, former President, and currently Chancellor of IIST, eminent scientist and educator Prof. Yash Pal, former Chairman, University Grants Commission, Prof. R Narasimha, chairman of the Engineering Mechanics Unit at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bengaluru, and the first Indian to ever go into outer space, Wing Cdr. (Retd.) Rakesh Sharma. This year, Conscientia brings you some very big names from industry as well as academia pertaining to budding and advanced fields of science and technology to deliver lectures and talks on interesting topics.
