Format

Using the given materials like thermocol, sheets, small bamboo sticks, polythene sheet, etc. teams have to make a glider. Since it is an on the spot event, the materials might be an element of surprise.

Rules and Regulations

• A team may consist of a maximum of 3 members.
• No tools other than those provided during the competition are to be used. Anyone who brings tools of his own into the completion will be disqualified.
• The glider will be hand launched. The launch should be just a gentle push, throwing the glider is not allowed.
• All teams will be given 3 trials between which they can make some minor changes.
• There are no restrictions on the size of the glider, its design or its weight. You are free to come up with any design that you think would complete the task. (By using the materials provided).
• The glider should fly within the specified arena.

Eligibility
Open to all college students with valid ID cards.

Judgement and Evaluation

• A score will be calculated on the basis of the distance the glider is able to glide and the time of flight in the ratio of 1:3. Score = [Distance flown (in cm)] + 3*[Time of flight (in seconds)]
  S = H + 3T
• The best out of the three trials will be taken as the team’s score.
• The decision of the judges/organisers will be final and binding under all circumstances.
