How Adam Did It!![]() Event Have you thought what would have happened if, in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve had not eaten the forbidden apple? We tend to take our comforts for granted. But they are the results of the genius of some of our forefathers. Do you think you could think like them? Or do you think had you been in their place, you would have done things differently, and the world would have been much better?

Format Round 1 | Screening Short answer type questions testing participants’ awareness of technology used in medieval period and knowledge of the underlying principles behind the inventions. Each team will be given scenarios consisting of a time frame, available resources and a problem statement. The participants need to find a feasible solution to the problem. Each question will have its root in some invention of the medieval period. The team can use only the technologies available in that period and cannot use any other resources. Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes. Six teams will be shortlisted for the final round. Round 2 | Finals The shortlisted teams will be given a scenario similar to round 1 and some hardware. This time their task will be to realise the solution from the given scrap material. The participants can use any help or reference. The aim will be to finally mimic an ancient invention. Eligibility Open to all college students with valid ID cards. Judgement and EvaluationThe decision of the judges will be final and binding under all circumstances. Round 1 | Screening
Round 2 | Second Screening The score will depend on how closely the design meets the required criteria and the clarity in description. The participant should keep in mind the era specified in the problem. If they have used a material which is ahead of that time, no points will be awarded. Round 3 | Finals The result of this round will depend on the performance of the invention and not on the design. In case of a tie, an extra clause may be added to the problem statement by the organizers. The participants will be given one hour extra for each change made. Since the tie breaking condition will be intimated with the problem statement, it is the responsibility of the participants to incorporate it in their design. |
