Event

An amphibious vehicle (or simply amphibian), is a vehicle or craft, that is a means of transport, viable on land as well as on water – just like an amphibian. At Salilsthalchar, your challenge will be to design a vehicle capable of moving on land and water, on a specified course and in minumum time. Are you up to it?

Rules and Regulations

• A team may consist of a maximum of 5 members.
• The vehicle should not exceed a size of 1.5*1.5 feet, and a weight of 5kg.
• You are allowed to use IC engines in your vehicle. Consequently, the limit on Potential Difference between any two points in the circuit has been revoked.
• If the vehicle is wired, the wire should be slack at all times during the competition.
• If a problem arises in the vehicle once it has been started, it has to begin again from the starting point after correction.
• If there is any problem during the race due to external effects like the hanging hook, the participant will be given another chance for the race, but only one such chance will be given. But the participant has to start from the beginning.

Open to all college students with valid ID cards

Judgement and Evaluation

• The time of completion of the track will be the criterion for judgement.
• If none of the participating teams is able to cover the whole track, then the distance covered will also be considered as the criterion for judgement.
• The decision of the judges/organisers will be final and binding under all circumstances.
