Results of preliminary round announced!
 AstroReflections is a Technical Poster Making Competition cum Exhibition on Astronomy and Astrophysics, on the lines of international conferences. This is a great opportunity to present your findings and research in these areas to the very people who work with it day and night.
Format
You are required to make a technical poster on a topic of your choice from the area of astronomy/astrophysics.There will be two stages for this event.
Prelims/Shortlisting
Participants will need to send an abstract of their poster (in less than 250 words) in .pdf format to the email ID mentioned under Rules. The format for the poster will be made available on this website. They will be shortlisted for the final round on the basis of their abstracts.
Finals
Participants will need to make their technical poster (A1 size or 4 A3 coalesced into an A1) and present it before a panel of judges.
- A team may consist of a maximum of 2 members.
- Only one entry per team is allowed. In case of multiple entries, only the first entry will be considered.
- References must be mentioned explicitly.
- Participants need to get their posters printed on their own. The poster may not be a single A1 sheet. You can combine 4 A3 sheets.
- Deadline for abstracts: 20th February 2010.
- Participants must send their entries in .pdf format only to the email ID mentioned below, with the subject: ASTROREFLECTIONS ABSTRACT.
- Do not forget to mention your name, contact details and Conscientia 2010 Registration ID in your entry.

Eligibility
Only college students are allowed to participate.
A panel of judges will decide the winner according to the following criteria:
- Content quality
- Knowledge of the topic
- Presentation skills
- Design of the poster
The decesion of the judges will be final and binding on all.

Sample Poster
Click here for a sample poster. It is a participant entry from Aparimit 2009.
General Instructions:
- Poster size: 4×A3.
- Send your poster as 4 (four) .png files, which, when put together, make your A1 sized poster.
- Get your posters printed well in advance. If you want the organisers to get your posters printed, send the image files in the above mentioned format before 2359hrs, 27th February 2010 to the email address mentioned below. Do not forget to mention your names, contact details and Conscientia 2010 registration IDs.
- The participants coming from outside IIST have to pay the printing cost of Rs 85/- per FULL poster on arrival.
- Participants from IIST also have to email their posters and pay the cost as mentioned in the two previous points.
- Participants must be present at the notified venue at least 1 hour before the scheduled commencement of the competition .

The organizers of Conscientia 2010 and IIST will not be responsible for any printing/formatting errors arising out of negligence on part of the participants, including those cases where the posters have been printed by the organisers.
